Karaganda is a young city, which turned 80 in 2014, is just creating its own history. Perhaps that is why not so long ago in Karaganda was opened the world's first monument to catch phrase. The townspeople raised funds and erected a monument to the work of famous Kazakh sculptors Murat Mansurov and Vikentiy Komkov to the famous expression Where-where? - In Karaganda!". The sculptural composition immediately became a landmark of the city.

In Karaganda, there is where to go and what to see and besides a witty monument: in the city there are about 50 historical and cultural monuments, three theaters, three museums. In the fourth largest city of Kazakhstan, an annual relay race is held for the prize of the newspaper Industrial Karaganda. The races, in which up to 5,500 athletes take part, take place every year on the first of May, for more than 60 years.
