Заранее: конфигурации в моём варианте твоего текста - не оплошности. Просто этот текст бедный (адаптированный, возможно, но для чего людей учить ТАКОМУ британскому?), потому мне показалось нелишним его изменить к наилучшему. Иное: я не писал предложения без пропусков.

I looked out of the window. It was raining hard. "You will get wet through if you go out now." "I will take an umbrella." We had five umbrellas in the house, but when I would want to take one, I could not find any to use: they were all torn or broken. So I took them all to the umbrella maker.
When I was going to have lunch in the afternoon, it was still raining very hard. I went to the nearest cafe and sat down at the table. A few minutes later, a young woman came in and sat down at the same table. When I finished my lunch and was ready to leave, I absent-mindedly took her umbrella and started to the exit. She stopped me to say that I took her umbrella. I returned the umbrella with many apologies.
In the evening, I went to the umbrella maker, took my five umbrellas and went to the tram station to go home. It so happened that the woman I had met at the cafe was riding at the same tram. When she saw me with my five umbrellas, she said "You've had a successful day today, haven't you?"
