Children usually seek role models to shape their own attitudes and behavior. As parents , it is very important to make sure that they have a sufficient number of positive role models .
There are plenty of negative role models around our children - and most adults can be negative , indifferent or mediocre. If we do not concentrate on actively positive role models , then these negative patterns can blunt the natural enthusiasm and optimism of the child.
The first thing to remember - is that the majority of children of parents as regards the main role models . And it's not only young children , but also teenagers. Therefore, we , as a parent , it is very important to us to become positive role models.
- Show your child that you are actively working on a positive attitude towards others ;
- Let your child see that you set and achieve their goals;
- Talk with your child about your own positive role models .
The only thing to avoid is that , with associated role models - be careful not to publicly blame, if your child is defined with the models to follow, even if you do not like . If your child imitates ugly pop star , your censure may only cause resistance. Instead, you should submit a reasoned point of view on something positive in relation to the "hero" , for example, that he had to be very loyal to his goals, to ensure that the position in which he is now .
