Winter holidays are shorter than summer ones. They begin at the end of December and last about two weeks. It is so nice to have a rest from school.

During winter holidays we celebrate the New Years Eve and Christmas. There are New Year parties for children at schools and theatres. Cinemas show children films and cartoons.

It is usually very cold in winter, but frost and snow cant keep children indoors. Its so great to go skiing down a hill. Boys like to play hockey on the ice. Many children go to the skating-rinks to skate. Small children play snowballs and make snowmen, or ride on the sledges happily.

When the weather is bad, I stay at home and watch TV. There is always something interesting on during winter holidays. Sometimes my friends come to see me and we play computer games or listen to music. There is also more time for reading, drawing, making model planes and other hobbies.

Holidays pass quickly and soon its time to go to school again.

Winter Holiday

My name is ( свое имя). Im thirteen ( сколько лет) . My favourite season is winter. My holidays began on the 28th of December. I am in a good mood because New Years Day and two weeks of the rest will come soon. I like festive bustle.

In the first day of our holidays I and my sister decorated our flat and we also decorated the Christmas tree in the evening. There is a tradition in our family: we all go skiing to the forest in the morning in the last day of the year. We enjoy beauty of the forest, breath fresh air and have a great time. Usually our walk takes us two hours. Then we begin to prepare for holiday.

In the first day of January we went to celebrate our grandmother and grandfather and next day we went to street festivities at city square.

The whole holidays I and my sister were spending much time in the street. We could go skating, having a fight with snowballs or making a snowman. Also we walked in the snow-covered park.

I liked my winter holidays very much.
