The Canadian tour of The Warrior Emperor and Chinas Terracotta Army opened this morning and Artscape was there to report on it.
The exhibition (1) ____one of the most significant archaeological discoveries in history: the life-sized terracotta Chinese warriors. These extraordinary figures (2)______during the Qin Dynasty 2,200 years ago for Ying Zheng, who became Chinas first emperor after (3) ______the country and ending 500 years of war. He also began to create the Terracotta Army to protect him after his death.
The scale of the army is breathtaking: since 1974, approximately 2,000 warriors and horses (4)_____but this is only a small proportion of the total. The exhibition features a wide range of sculptures of civilians, as well as military personnel, and each one is an amazing work of art on its own.
