Twenty One Pilots (also often stylized as twenty one pilots or TWENTY NE PILOTS) is an American Duo from Columbus, Ohio. The band was formed in 2009 and currently consists of Tyler Joseph and Josh Dan. The band was formed in 2009 in Columbus, Ohio by College friends: Tyler Joseph, Nick Thomas and Chris Salih. The name of the group came up with Tyler while reading the plays of Arthur Miller "All my sons", a story about a man who during the Second world war for the sake of business and family supplied the army with defective parts that caused the death of 21 pilots. Tyler explains that this story of moral dilemma was the inspiration for the band's name. On December 29, 2009, they released their debut self-titled album and began touring Ohio.
