Many years ago, Mr Tailor, an Englishman, stayed in a hotel in Germany. He usually had lunch in a little cafe. Every time he came to the table, a German who was sitting there stood up and said: quot;Mahlzeit.quot; The Englishman answered: quot;Tailor.quot; One day, Mr Tailor met an English friend. quot; The Germans have strange traditions, quot; he said. quot;Every time I come to the cafe for lunch, a German stands up and tells me his name.quot; quot; That seems strange to me, too, quot; the friend said. quot; What does the man say?quot; quot;He tells me his name Mahlzeit, quot; Mr Tailor answered. His friend laughed: quot;Mahlzeitquot; isn39;t his name, it39;s the German word for quot;good appetitequot; The German is a polite man and he is simply saying quot;Mahlzeitquot; to you because you are going to eat.quot; The next day, when Mr Tailor came into the cafe, he smiled to the German and said, quot;Mahlzeit.quot; The German stood up and answered: quot;Tailor!quot;Перевод, gkbp
