Rain forest is a forest where the annual rainfall exceeds 2,000 mm. They are divided into three types: tropical, subtropical and moderate. Tropical forest, as the name implies, grows in the tropics that are near the equator. The largest of them are in South and Central America. The most famous rainforest is forest of Amazonia. Subtropical and temperate rain forests grow to the north and south of the tropical belt and in the mountains of the tropics. These are forests in New Zealand, Northwest USA, on the island of Java. More than half of all animals, insects and plants live in them. There are many unexplored places in them. Until now, in these forests, scientists find representatives of the flora and fauna unknown to the world.
