Crocodiles belong to reptiles, although their closest relatives living in our time are birds. Crocodiles usually hunt in the water and near the shore, although they can go on land. This is a very large animal, long but low. The crocodile is a predator that often attacks people. Previously, crocodiles were killed for the sake of beautiful and durable skin, which led to a significant reduction in their numbers. But now their population is completely restored. Crocodiles are frequent inhabitants of zoos. They are even grown on special farms. Still, the crocodile is a wild animal, and it is better for it to live in the wild.
