Camels are smart, strong and very hardy animals. Their body is perfectly adapted for life in dry steppes and deserts. The long dense wool helps to escape the scorching sun, and at night to warm up. The humps, located on the backs of the animals, can accumulate up to 120 kg of fat, which helps them to live without food and water for a long time. Camel can easily live without food for about a month, but without water for about two weeks only. Camels are necessary for people, as they give milk, wool, skin and meat. However, the main advantage of camels is their ability to walk long distances in deserts with heavy bags on their backs. They can cover 30 40 km daily, carrying weight of 250 300 kg.
