Once it was a pagan holiday of the Slavic tribes, which marked the border between winter and spring. It was very loved among the people. Therefore, when Christianity was adopted, it was decided to leave it, but to coincide with the new faith. Traditionally, folk festivals are held on this holiday, they wear traditional clothes and bake pancakes. Pancake is a symbol of the sun. It is now popular to make pancakes with various fillings.
