Arthur Conan Doyle one of the most popular British writers known for his detective fiction whose main character is Sherlock Holmes. Arthur Conan Doyle was born in Scotland in 1859. While studying medicine at the University of Edinburgh, the future writer was very impressed by the mastery of his professor Joseph Bell who became the prototype of the main character of his works.
