Belfast castle is one of irish castles. It's located on the slopes of Cavehill country park. The original castle was built in the beginig of 12 century by normans, but it was burned down in 1708, and instead of reconstruction , owner , Sir Arthur Chichester has decided to built a new house.
In 1978 british goverment decided to reconstruct castle and they have spent 2millions pounds on it.Nova days, castle has souvenirs shops and the centre of visiters in it.

Belfast Castle was built in the late 12th century by the Normans [1], was located in the city itself. The castle is surrounded by the streets of High Street, Zamkova Square, Donegal Square - in the center of Belfast. This castle was the residence of Baron Chichester (he was better known as Sir Arthur Chichester), but this residence burned down in 1708. Instead of restoring the residence to its original location, Baron Chichester decided to build a new residence in the suburbs. The building, which we see today, was built in 1811-1870 by the Marquis Donegal. The castle was built in the style of Scottish barons Charles Lanyon and his sons. After the death of the Marquise Donegal and the economic crisis of the family, VIII Earl of Shaftesbury completed the construction of this castle.
