1. I live in Russia, which is the world's largest country.
2. Of course, on the extensive territory of this country there are many big and small cities, towns, villages and other settlements.
3. Some of them are very old, with unique history and traditions.
4.  St. Petersburg is a large beautiful city in the north-western part of Russia. 5. It is a city of white nights, green parks, numerous channels and bridges, granite embankments and railings.
6. Many famous Russian and foreign architects created the face of the city in the 18th and 19th centuries.
7.Saint Petersburg is often called the second, cultural or northern capital of Russia.
8. Its population is three times less about 5 million people.
9. Although St. Petersburg is relatively young (just 300 years old), it has a rich history.
10. Its name had been changed several times from Petersburg to Petrograd, from Petrograd to Leningrad, and then back to Petersburg.
