Kalyada is it an interesting Belarusian and Russian Christmas tradition. Slavic people had been always following this tradition, even before the Christianity appeared in Rus'. It usually takes place before Christmas and children are having a lot of fun while dressing as the animals making the "Sun-on-a-stick" and the "Goat-on-a-stick", as I love to call it. Children visit peoples' houses trick-or-treating, singing special songs and wish success, health and wealth.  "What?" - would you say? Calm down, most of former USSR states' traditions can be very strange for non-CSTO members' people. Even I was surprised and shocked when I have learnt about those traditions.
