Jennys Job.
Most New Yorkers live in apartments and in most apartments there is at least one dog. Life in New York could be very dull for those animals, but fortunately there is an army of dog walkers to make the dogs happy.
I t was in Central park, Manhattan, that I met Jenny and her dogs for the first time. She was a dog walker at 20 dollars a week for each dog. She looked very small beside the two big white dogs, the two little brown ones in front of her, and the grey poodle behind her. I pointed to the group and said, "Beauty and the beasts what a charming picture!"
"Thank you very much, she said with a smile.
"How often do you take them out?" I asked. "Five times a week...
While we were talking, the dray poodle got loose and rushed to the pond. From a small bridge it fell into the water and could not get out again. In my new suit I jumped and landed in three feet of dark green water and one foot of mud. The poodle did not appreciate my help very much and bit my finger. However I picked the dog up and took it back to Jenny. She was very grateful and smiled at me.
As I walked home I wondered why I had jumped into the water for I really dont like poodles very much.
