The rock opera quot;Unona and Avosquot; was based on a real story. It is the love story of a Russian traveller Nicholai Rezanov and a Spanish girl Conchita.
In 1806 Nicholai Rezanov, one of the heads of the Russian-American Trading Company, (1) arranged an expedition to California. Two ships, quot;Unona and quot;Avosquot; sailed from Novo-Archangelsk to San Francisco. California was a Spanish colony in those times, and the aim of the expedition (2) was to establish trading relations with the Spanish colonists.
