In 2007, in our country, a vote was taken for the Seven Wonders of Russia. On June 12, 2008, on the Day of Russia, the finalists of the voting were announced, in which more than 26 million people of our country took part. The wonders of Russia are Lake Baikal, Valley of Geysers in Kamchatka, Mamayev Kurgan in Volgograd, Peterhof, Elbrus, St. Basils Cathedral and Pillars of Weathering Man-Pupu-Ner. Lake Baikal Baikal is the treasure of Russia, the deepest lake of the planet (its depth is 1637 m), located in the southern part of Eastern Siberia, on the border of the Irkutsk region and the Republic of Buryatia. Valley of Geysers The miracle of Kamchatka, the state biosphere geothermal reserve in the valley of the Geysernaya river is one of the most popular tourist places in our country. The Valley of Geysers is the only geyser field in Eurasia. This volcanic canyon is spread over an area of two square kilometers and contains 200 thermal springs. There is no doubt that Elbrus can rightfully be considered one of the Seven Wonders of Russia.
