The Golden Ring is one of the most famous sights of the Russian Federation. It is a very popular route among tourists in exploring our country. This route was created by Jury Bykov in 1967 and was named by him. It consists of eight towns. The first one is Sergiev Posad, only town of Moscow region. Its main sight is Trinity Sergius Lawra. It had been being built for four centuries by best architects. The second one is Pereslavl-Zalessky. In this town we can watch 6 monasteries and 9 churches. Among them there is Tranfiguration Cathedral. By legend Alexander Nevskiy was baptized there. Rostov Great is one of the most ancient town of Rus. I was mentioned in Tale of Bygone Years. Its main decoration is the Kremlin with Assumption Cathedral. The fourth sight of the Golden Ring is Yaroslavl with its beautiful historical center. Kostroma is famous with white-stone Ipatiev Monastery, where Michael Romanov was elected as emperor.  Ivanovo is known as the town of brides.  The next sight is Suzdal. It also has its own Kremlin, which takes roots from 10th century. Vladimir is famous by Cathedral of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin, which is added to UNESCO heritage. Also there we can see the Golden Gates and Church of the Intercession on the Nerl.
