During my summer holidays I read a well-known fantasy novel "The Wizard of Oz". It was written by American author L. Frank Baum in 1900. The main character of the book is a little girl Dorothy. One day she and her little dog Toto were swept away from their home in Kansas by hurricane to the magic land of Oz, which was inhabited by different wonderful creatures. She travelled to the Emerald City to ask the great and powerful Wizard of Oz to help her to return home. On her way Dorothy met the Scarecrow, the Tin Woodman and the Cowardly Lion. They became friends and travelled with her to the Emerald City, because each of them had a dream so they wanted to ask the Wizard of Oz to help them too. I liked this book very much because it tells us about true friendship, describes interesting adventures and has a happy end.
