What is English nowadays? Its everything! English is in work, studying, internet, travelling, science, discoveries, etc. English is an international language. If you go to France or India, and dont know native languages, you can certainly speak English. The rise of English has a great success in modern world. Most people try to learn and teach English. Pupils, students, simple people try to know at least colloquial English speech, at least some simple phrases, such as "Hello, how are you?", "Whats your name?", "How old are you?", "Where are you from?", etc. Many people watch films and listen to music in original, trying to understand the meaning of what they watch and hear. Sometimes they find films with English or Russian subtitles, or texts of the songs in the internet. It can help them in using new words or phrases. But there is another side of English learning. This is weak methodology of teaching at schools. Sometimes pupils dont know simple words and they dont like to know them. There is no perfect practice of using English at English lessons. Thats why many students go to tutors in order to know more and better. Some of them learn English at home themselves. But there are few of them. English is not only the language of the modern world. It will be useful and practiced always. I think, the Ministry of education should pay attention to this and make new conditions of learning and teaching English at schools.
