Great Wall of China (Большая Китайская стенка) - it is the biggest object ever мейд by humanity. Its length is over 6000 km. The wall was built to keep invaders from west out of China.
Christ the Redeemer (Статуя Христа-Искупителя) - This statue was constructed between 1922 and 1931 and was situated at the peak of the Corcovado Mountain. Its length is 30 meters tall. The arms of the statue stretch 28 meters wide. This statue became the symbol of Brazilian Christianity.
Machu Picchu (Мачу-Пикчу) - is a site of ancient Inca ruins located 2430 meters above sea level. Machu Picchu is the most familiar icon of the Inca civilisation. It was built as an estate for the Inca emperor Pachauti.
Chichen Itza (Чичен-Ица) - It was one of the largest Maya cities and a major regional center. Its name literally means: "Mouth of the well of the Itza". It covers an area of six square miles where hundreds of buildings once stood.
Colosseum (Колизей) - the largest amphitheatre in the world. The construction was started in 72 AD. The building was used mostly for gladiator fights to entertain people for free. This great arena could seat 45,000 spectators.
Taj Mahal (Тадж-Махал) - it was built about 400 years ago as a tomb for the Emperor Shah Jahans wife, Mumtaz Mahal. She died when she gave birth to her 14th baby. It took 22 years to built the Taj Mahal. Its one of the most beautiful tombs in the world.
Great Pyramid of Giza (Пирамида Хеопса) - the oldest and largest of the ancient Egyptian pyramids. Construction began on 2580 BC. Its main purpose was to be a tomb for pharaoh Khufu, son of Sneferu and second ruler of the fourth dynasty. When the pyramid was completed 20 years later it stood at 146.5 meters tall.
