I didnt sleep very well for the last few days. Заключительные несколько дней я не почивал очень превосходно.
The keyword of the sentence is last. Last is the keyword of Past Indefinite. Thats why we use Past Indefinite (didnt sleep).
Past Indefinite is formed with the help of the suffix ed for regular verbs. For irregular verbs we use the second form.
The auxiliary verb of Past Indefinite is to do did. We use did to form negative and interrogative.
Negative did + not + verb.
Interrogative Did + subject + verb.
