That morning when I woke up after a long and sleepless night I was called downstairs. I found there my mother and Mr. Murdstone with a stick in his hands. I was to answer my lesson but I felt the words of my lesson were disappearing from my memory. I had come in, thinking I was well prepared, but it was a mistake. "If you dont remember the material, Ill beat you.", Mr. Murdstone was the worst stepfather in the world. "Dont beat me, sir. I have tried to learn." But he didnt listen to me and didnt let my mother help me.
